With Autumn just around the corner, all I can think about is the cool crisp air, the beautiful leaves on the trees that are full of colour. I have to say Fall is my favourite time of year.

Cranberry Soap and Scrub

One of my favorite foods is cranberries, tart and refreshing. I have created a Soap and Whipped Parfait Scrub which is inspired by my love of this fruit

The scent is a fresh, fruity blend of cranberries with sweet orange and fresh crispy apples jazzed up with spicy cinnamon. I have added some cranberry seeds to add some exfoliation.

I have an addition to chocolate. My favorite is Dark chocolate, but you won't see me say no if someone offers some Milk Chocolate.

With My Chocolate addition I also thought it would be great to have some chocolate Soap. I have created a few different chocolate soaps to choose from. Best of all..no calories.

One of my favorite treats is Chocolate Covered Strawberries. In my opinion there is nothing better!

So I had a thought, what about making a soap that smells just like a Chocolate Covered Strawberry. Here it is, the Chocolate covered strawberry soap, and let me know tell you it smells divine ! Warm Rich Chocolate, Sweet Ripe Strawberries with hints of Vanilla and Whipped Cream.

Coupons??? Are they really worth the effort?

With the state of the global economy, I thought I would share some of my thoughts on how to save Money with yes coupons.

There are 2 different views on whether Coupons are worth the effort.

The first view is how can cutting out a coupon worth 50 cents really save my family any money. That it takes more of your time then you actually save.

The other view, which is how I run my household is that coupons are a very effective way of saving money.

Every week I have a process that I follow for my grocery shopping which has now saved my family on average $50 dollars a week on our grocery bill. That equates to a savings of about $2600 a year. I will provide some of the things that I do.

1. Never buy anything unless it is on sale. What that means is create a meal plan and shopping list based on the sales that week. For instance if Chicken is on sale, we will have chicken that week for dinner. If Broccoli is on sale we have broccoli for dinner.

2. Buy in bulk when items are on sale. Like I noted in #1 buy only items that are on sale, but also Buy in bulk and freeze the items that you are not using that week. I NEVER buy meat at regular price. Our Family invested in one of those Food Saver Vacuum sealing machines and I freeze meat when it is on sale in serving size portions. When I am freezing the items I will also precut items for say Stir fry so that I save time when it comes to making dinner.

3. Use Coupons when items are on sale. If an item is on sale and I have coupons for it, I buy as much as I can. For instance, my son loves apple sauce. It is regular price 2.49 and was on sale this week for 1.67. I had 50 cent coupons so I only ended up paying 1.17 for a savings of 1.32 per item. By doing this I paid less then half price. I stocked up and now have 4 months worth of apple sauce at home.

4. Join a Forum for Coupons. There a lot out there. I am a Canadian so my favorite site is Smart Canucks. They have a ton of information on how to maximize your savings and where the best deals are.

5. Be aware of SCOP, Other wise Known as the scanning code of Practice here in Canada. If An item scans incorrectly and is under $10 you will get it for FREE. If the item is over $10 you will receive $10 off the price of the item. Not all retailers participate in SCOP, but if they do they will have it posted at the cash register or at the front door of the store. This year alone I have already received 1 free item (value of 9.94) and received $10 off another. That is a savings of 19.94 by just making sure that the store is charging the correct price.

Some of the suggestions that I am making are geared towards Canadians, but I am sure that they will be useful for others as well.

Check back as I will be adding more as the week goes on. This is just a small sampling of what I do to save money on groceries.

I can't think of Christmas without including some Candy Canes on our Tree. It brings back so many memories of Christmas when I was a child. For this years Holiday Season I have created 2 products inspired by the Minty Fresh Scent of a Candy Cane.

Whipped Parfait Body and Facial Scrubs

OK I have to start with.... I LOVE THIS STUFF.

I have been making Whipped Parfait soap and decided to make one I could use as a scrub. Well...here it is Whipped Parfait Scrub. I have started with 4 fragrances. Cranberry, Amaretto, Pineapple Coconut and Citrus and Coriander. I added some jojoba beads to some, cranberry seeds and Apricot shells. I love the feel of this soap/scrub when I wash my face. It leaves my skin soft, smooth and I don't need to add a moisturizer after.

Hmmmmmmm, wonder if I add some pumice and peppermint and make a foot scrub....

Off to make more Soap :)

Getting ready for Fall and Winter

Well it's time to start getting ready for Fall and Winter. I have been making new soaps and bath and body products and now my house smells like thanksgiving in here.

One of my new soaps for fall is Pumpkin Spice. I LOVE the smell of this soap. It is just like a freshly baked Pumpkin Pie. I added a dash of cinnamon to the top of the soap. I also lightly whipped the soap to give it the rough top.

I just can't wait to add more soaps to my Etsy shop. I just made a vanilla custard and All Spice Soap. YUMMY.

Cupcake Soaps What could be better !

Okay, you may have noticed by now that I have a bit of a sweet tooth. This is a Vanilla Cupcake with Strawberry Buttercream Icing and it of course a Soap. The scent is Sweet and fresh but not to strong.

....And you will notice that I do enjoy my Chocolate !

Chocolate Cupcake with Buttercream frosting Soap. The soap is made with Real Chocolate to give a deep rich Chocolate scent. The buttercream Frosting is Sweet and Subtle. Just delicious smelling.

I will be adding more cupcake scents.

Yummy Strawberry Shortcake Soap

I don't know about you but I just LOVE strawberries. One of my favorite desserts is Strawberry Shortcake.....just had some this weekend :-)

With my love of Strawberries I created this Soap. I just love the way it looks and the smell is just wonderful. I get hungry from the scent.

Working on some Soapsicles today....can't wait to see what they looks like when they are ready !

We have added 2 new soaps to our line of products.

One is the Coconut Lime Soap which smells like you are on an island....which is great with the all the snow we have had this winter!

The other soap that we have added is our Pink Grapefruit Soap. This Scent is invigorating and refreshing. A wonderful Citrus Scent.

Welcome to our Blog. This is our first entry into our Blog so I thought I would start by talking a bit about some of our products and what we are currently working on.

Our Lip Balms are all unsweetened. We prefer unsweetened Lip Balms as the sweetener can make you lick your lips more...therefore drying them out. One our best sellers (and a favorite of ours) is our Lemon Meringue Pie Flavor. Some other flavors that we also have are Chocolate Fantasy, Orange Creamsicle, RootBeer. We will be adding to this line all the time, as you can not enough Lip Balm Flavors !

Our Soaps....YUMMY. This is our Peanut Butter and Chocolate Soap. The top layer is made with Real Dark Chocolate and the Bottom is made with Real Peanut Butter. There was no need for Fragrance in this soap as all of the fragrance comes from the Chocolate and Peanut Butter. This soap will leave your Skin feeling soft and Silky with a light scent of Chocolate and Peanut Butter.
........and of course you do not need to worry about Calories here !

We are currently working on expanding our line of Soaps. Within the next day or two we will be adding Coconut Lime and Pink Grapefruit.

Stay tuned for our Whipped Foaming body Butter. This product should be released in the next few weeks. The Foaming Body Butter includes Shea Butter to moisturize your skin.
